I'd like to say my classes got better. They didn't. My third class, Psychology, proved to have a crazy professor. Even though psychology teachers tend to be more mad, I do find it interesting how the different teachers teach the same thing but have a completely different view on things.
Fourth and final class, Public Speaking, went much like the other three. Well, minus the teacher being crazy. That, and a girl.
It wasn't the fact that she was good looking. By HUMAN standards she was quite attractive. By vampire standards, she wasn't very high.
No, it was just a strange feeling, like I somehow already knew her. It quickly passed. I mean, how could I possibly know someone before I've even met them? It's just completely absurd.
Then, things got even weirder. After class she walked up to me and stated that she thought I looked familiar. There were three way to take this.
One, she was just hitting on me by starting up a conversation. That would make plenty of sense.
Two, I really did look familiar to her. Could be possible, but number one was much more likely.
Three, she had felt what I felt, which would be really freaky and would probably scare me half to death.
As any self respecting person can tell, I assumed it was the first option.
So, I had a pleasant conversation with her. She told me her name was Dian. I told her my public name, John. No way was I going to ever tell her my real name, Darkerling. The reason for having a public name was that you could change it every so often so that nobody could catch on to the fact that your a vampire.
Our conversation ended. we went our ways. I still think that feeling was just a coincidence, nothing more.
Now, I need to figure out when the next coven meeting is.

Book 1, Chapter 2
"Well, I'd most appreciate if you could tell me when and where the next coven meeting is?"
"I could do that." She answered. "but only if you give me your name, and contact info."
This was something I was not used to. Name, yes. Contact information, no. Rarely did vampires give contact information right off the bat. In a formal meeting yes, but rarely even then. Vampire simply have a low sense of trust, especially among themselves. Either way, I need to get accepted in, and it would be a really bad idea to anger the Lord.
"In public my name is John, but my true name is Darkerling." I whispered quietly. I also gave her my phone number and e-mail.
"My name is Varquess." She stated quietly, after giving me her contact info. "I'll call you and give you the knowledge you need."
"So is Varquess your public name?" I asked.
"It's both." She responded.
"Also," She added while lightly putting her hand on my arm. "I do hope that you will be of use to our coven."
After that, she left. Where, I do not know. Now, if I didn't know any better, I'd say She was hitting on me. Of course that is nonsense. Lords never seriously consider any new comer for purposes of love. Way too unreliable.
Well I was going to have to leave for my next class or I'd be late.

Book 1, Chapter 1
The first day of another semester of college.
One good thing about being able to live forever is that you can learn a lot of stuff over the years. Considering I'm about to have been a vampire for fifty years, I should know. Alas I change colleges every few years so no one will figure out that I'm a vampire.
Anyhow, this semester of college didn't promise to be anything special. I had decided to go to a community college. Small, out of the way, a good place for my style. Four Classes, and none of them should be hard.
So the trick is going to be finding vampires of the local area, and getting accepted in for the few years I'll be here, and not making too many enemies. Simple goals really, but always one of the first things that has to get done when you move to a new area.
With that in mind, this was what I was looking for while I was headed to my first class. It is much easier for vampires to find each other then for humans to find vampires. The reason is vampires can smell each other. Vampire smell quite different from human, and if humans could smell well enough, they would be able to figure us out quite quickly.
I'm going to my first class and did I find anyone? No. That was not a good sign. At this point I should have already sensed one vampire at least. Oh well, there has to be one somewhere.
I arrive at my first class, Photoshop. Things are going okay, but nothing special. The class ends with nothing out of the expected happening.
My second class, Chemistry, went much the same as my first class.
Now is when I had scheduled to have a "lunch" break. Technically vampires don't need to eat human food, but I find that it helps with blending in. Besides, normal food tastes good, even if it is nowhere as good as blood.
I went down to where the cafeteria was. As I went to the cafeteria, I caught a scent, the scent of a vampire. I started searching. I needed to find this vampire. If I could find this vampire then I'd be able to get into this the local coven. Without that, I could risk getting in big trouble with the Lord of this region. That is more of a problem that I want to deal with.
Luckily, I found the vampire I had smelled. She was in the computer lab.
"May the Lord have favor on you." This is one of the phrases that vampires use to greet each other. Irony is, when a normal human hears this, they think you are talking about god.
"I would hope so." She replied. In the vampire language this means only one thing.
I am the Lord.
(Note for the reader: Vampires [of this world, at least] can be in sunlight. The problem for vampires with being in sunlight is they have almost none of their vampire powers while in sunlight.)

Book 1 Prologue/Starting Thing
I'd like to be able to say that I am your friend.
But I'm not.
I'm part of a hidden world, a world of darkness, a world of evil. I wish I could compleatly leave it behind, but it is part of me now. No avoiding it now, just dealing with it.
Don't get me wrong, I like all of the benifits, but losing your humanity is a price that is simply not worth it. Never forget that. Humanity is something never worth trading.
Every second of every day, I fear losing control. That part of all of us that takes control if we don't feed 'it'. The beast, the thrist, the animal in all of us. And a greater fear yet, that when 'it' takes comtrol, that we will not gain control again, leaving us like an animal, wild and dumb.
I include this in the begining of my book so all who read may know what I feel and will understand me better.
((I think this is a good start don't you?))

What is this?
Hello World,
I'm starting this blog to allow myself to write down the Vampire story I've thought of for awhile now. I also hope to be able to write something that will clear the evil of "twilight".
Hope you enjoy my story and leave comments.
Darkerling, the Vampire.
